A good time management planner is be a good place to start. Dana uses several hands-on tools to keep her organized and on task. Using the same techniques, you can scale up or scale down the tasks you do by the number of hours in a day you are able to devote to your business. When you have those pockets of time, you need to capitalize on them. The best way to do this is to schedule them.
What are two must-haves in the best time management planners? (1) It must be EASY to use and manipulate allowing for your own time schedule. Time adjustments may be needed even on a daily basis, so being able to manipulate it to meet your needs is crucial. And (2) it must PROVIDE actionable steps for building your audience, communicating with your audience, and MAKING MONEY! 4 Time Management Strategies to Stop the Madness!
Get Organized with a Time Management Planner
Find a time management planner that works for you. You can download and try ours HERE. This is probably the most important strategy because if you have no order in your chaos, it is still chaos.
Each of us may order our things differently. Some of us may be able to look at a messy pile and think “that’s organized” because you know exactly what’s in that pile. Some of us may also need spreadsheets and color coding because we are so visual.
What does “being organized” mean to you?
If it takes you several hours over a weekend, get yourself organized. Buy some notebooks, sharpen some pencils, grab some note-taking paper, and tidy up a special corner just for you and your business. Make some spreadsheets to collect data. Whatever it means to you. Set up shop, and let’s get ready to rock this!
This time management strategy can be difficult if your office is the coffee shop or you have little ones running under foot. Or maybe it’s your spouse with the TV blaring. Some of these things are out of your control. You need to find a secluded area where you turn it off, even your cell phone unless that is your business device.
When you are distraction free, you are honoring your business and your desire for success. You have chosen to be intentional about your tasks. When you are laser-focused like this, you are more productive. When you are more productive (on the right tasks), you will be able to help more people and make more sales.
Get Clear on your Activities.
So, you’ve got your calendar, and you’ve figured out your time pockets that you are going to use. This is the time management strategy that looks different for everyone, but at the same time starts by looking the same.
You may have been told by your upline or business partner what activities you are supposed to do every day. Make a list. Add to that list any activities you are observing leaders in your niche are doing. (Niche would be your area of the marketplace, who are you serving and with what.)
We all know how some things can really suck us in. In all likelihood, those aren’t necessarily the activities that are going to move your business forward. So, you want to whittle that list down to the most essential activities that you can schedule.
With that in mind, take your list and make sure everything you do fits into one of the following five categories. If it doesn’t – STOP IT – until you have extra time.

Prospecting and building your audience. This includes meeting and talking to new people on social media, growing your list, networking in the grocery store line, etc.
Inviting people to something that will benefit them. You can use your companies’ presentation videos, webinars, etc. This requires that you get a commitment from them and also a follow up appointment to get their sales response.
Presenting your opportunity can only be done after you received permission. So, in your prospecting activity you want to get that permission, receiving an email address in exchange for something of value to them. You are now free to present your opportunity to see if it is a fit for your lead or prospect. This goes hand in hand with “inviting.”
Closing the Deal or Scheduled Follow Up. Any time you present, you need to follow up. Many people miss this step and leave lots of money on the table. Keep in mind that you have just presented your prospect with a solution that will change their life. This is a critical step if you want to ever get paid. Dealing with objections and everything else will be left for another training.
Personal development for YOU. Don’t neglect this as it is vital for all the others. If you are not filled, refreshed, and ready to serve, your audience will sense it. There are plenty of other sources for information and products. You need to stand out. You need to be so on your game that people are going to flock to you. When you can unlock some of the untapped energy, skill, and passion you have inside you, your audience will lap it up. Don’t you want to be the best you can be for you and your audience?
Get Consistent with Your Time Management Strategy
The final time management strategy will keep you visible. You never want to drop off the face of the earth. You want to find a rhythm of doing the activities on a consistent basis. Don’t think you’ll catch up over the weekend and not do anything during the week.
It’s better to do a little each day than a lot at one time. You want people to see you everywhere. There are tricks and strategies to doing that as well. You can use automation for one thing. But that’s ONLY AFTER you have learned how to do it manually.
Know what tasks you can do daily and then do them. Start with your busiest day and figure out a baseline. What is the LEAST you can do on your BUSIEST day and still stay connected with your audience by doing activities in those 5 categories? That becomes your zero-level marketing as one of our mentors reminds us.
Never fall below that. On a holiday, during an illness, etc. You are in business. Business owners make sacrifices.
